Volunteer Opportunities at FUPC

The following Trustee committees are looking for those willing to volunteer in a variety of ways. Perhaps you have been thinking about how you could serve the Body of Christ here at FUPC. Maybe now is the time!

Information & Technology Committee

The IT Committee is looking for help. You don’t have to be a candidate for the “Geek Squad” just someone who is interested in helping the church stay current on the flow of information and providing technical support for all our ministries. If you would like to know more, contact Jack Wilkerson.

Security Committee

The Security Committee is looking for some people who are out-going and want to start to get involved in the church. We ask you to watch one of two doors on Sunday, for about one hour, every 3 – 4 months. All you basically have to do is greet people as they are coming in, point visitors in the right direction and be aware of things that don’t look right and alert the proper individuals. For more information or to get started, contact John Costas.

Special Events Committee

The Special Events Committee is looking for volunteers to help plan church special events that provide fellowship for the Body of Christ and outreach to our neighbors.  Volunteering for the committee does not mean you have to help at each and every event – planning for the event is just as important. Please consider lending a helping hand to serve FUPC! Let Jan Riccio know if you are interested in helping in this way.

Property and Maintenance Committee

The Property and Maintenance Committee is looking for enthusiastic volunteers! While God’s “church” is really the people who worship Him, they typically do so together within a building sitting on some property. This committee is charged with overseeing the important practical needs of both our church building and all church properties including Bailey Retreat. Committee members offer their perspectives as to the necessity of completing various building and grounds repairs. They also help to decide on the details of those repairs. They sometimes volunteer to help complete projects within their scope of expertise and they help in choosing outside contractors when one is needed. The committee has regularly scheduled meetings every two months and also completes some business by e-mail. We are especially interested in newer members. Remember that “many hands make light work” and please contact Mike Weger if interested in serving God and His people in this way (309-235-5475 or mweger@msn.com)
