Catalyst exists to SHOW students who Jesus is so they can SHARE and SPREAD the gospel with their friends and families as they SERVE in their communities helping people to SURRENDER to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
To live God and to show Christ’s love to others
To expose youth to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, so that they may be lifelong disciples and a catalyst to the world
Catalyst meets on Wednesday nights. During Wednesday nights students play games, have a lesson and then break into small groups to discuss their weeks and the lesson more. Currently the youth are going through a series called “Real Eyes”. This series goes through 1 John. Some of the lessons we have learned so far have been:
- the truth that we have eternal life through Jesus should always be in our field of vision;
- if we ask for forgiveness, God forgives;
- we should love because we are loved; and love isn’t a feeling, it’s an action.
Guys Bible study is a great time where guys between grades 6th-12th can come and dig deeper into scripture meeting every Tuesday. They are going through a series about love and applying that love to their lives. We are figuring out how we can love people like how Jesus did in each of our contexts of school, sports, clubs, and with relationships.

Embracing humility in an all-about-me world
The girls are continuing to learn what it means to be a daughter of the King. We are learning about the temporal materialism of culture verses God’s eternal Kingdom. We are learning that:
- The things our culture treasures won’t last. But God’s Kingdom will stand forever.
- God promises me an eternal crown.
- Where my treasure is, my heart will be also.
- God is more concerned about my holiness than my happiness.

There are also a few important dates for Catalyst. This year some High School students are going on a mission trip to St. Louis. This is a trip that a lot of students look forward to because they get an opportunity to minister to many different people in a variety of ways. Along with getting ready for the mission trip the youth are doing a few fundraisers to help raise money for the mission trip.
